ORGANIZERS SAY CONDITIONS THIS WEEK AND ARE PERFECT AND THEY THINK THEY MAY HAVE HAD A LITTLE HELP FROM ABOVE. [APPLAUSE] SIOBHAN: SHE CROSSES THE FINISH LINE IN HER FIRST EVENT RACING MORE THAN ONE DOG.>>I WAS REALLY NERVOUS BEFORE. WHEN WE WENT, IT WAS SO FAST. CHERISE: THE 10-YEAR-OLD — SIOBHAN: THE 10-YEAR-OLD IS NOT THE YOUNGEST AT THE EVENT, PROVING IT IS NEVER TOO EARLY TO GET INVOLVED IN THE SPORT. WILL SHE RACE WITH THREE DOTS NEXT YEAR?>>I DON’T KNOW. SIOBHAN: MUSHERS TRAVELED FROM ALL ACROSS THE U.S. AND CANADA TO PARTICIPATE. HE IS A FARMER FROM VERMONT. HE SAYS HIS DOGS ARE LIKE HIS BABIES. THEIR LOVE FOR BUTLER IS CLEAR AS THEY STEAL A DANCE TOGETHER BEFORE THE RACE.>>HAVE GOT TO BE FED AND CLEANED. SIOBHAN: THIS YEAR IS TAKING ON A SPECIAL MEANING FOR THOSE HEAVILY INVOLVED IN THE EVENT IN THE PAST. IT IS BEING RUN IN HONOR OF THE LATE KEITH BRIAR WHO DIED LAST YEAR.>>HIS FATHER WINNING HERE THREE TIMES AND HE WON TWICE. SIOBHAN: MONDAY WILL BE THE ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF HIS DEATH. FRIENDS AND FAMILY ARE LOOKING TO KEEP HIS MEMORY ALIVE THROUGH THE RACE AND SCHOLARSHIP.>>I THINK HE WAS THE ONE THAT GAVE US THE SNOW. SIOBHAN: MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
