Sonia Fedorova – Reviving Russian Snowboarding

The 17-18’ season was very hard and intensive. It was actually the toughest season in my
entire snowboarding career. But I am extremely glad to finish it here, in Soelden, Austria, at the Audi Nines, and to be one of the 9 invited riders. For me, one of the prime objectives this season was to qualify for the Olympics. And this was truly great motivation both for
me and many other athletes, just to be there. It’s a genuinely amazing experience. I started to improve my training program; I started qualifying for the World Cup finals, which finally led me to the 1st place in overall ranking; I became the Crystal Globe recipient, and I was also invited to Audi Nines. Each year, this event becomes a great occasion. Very unusual creative courses are built here. And this time an entire park has been built, which is considered to be the first so called Slope-X I also tried a new trick here, a trick I always wanted to learn. I am extremely glad to finally
land it during the last event day. Meeting the world’s best riders, spending a whole week with them and simply riding, enjoy snowboarding, learning new tricks it’s the best week I could imagine.
