KELLY SIGNED HIS OWN NAME REFUSING MEDICAL TREATMENT FOR RHODES ALTHOUGH RHODES REQUESTED IT. FOUR DAYS LATER RHODES DIED. Reporter: AFTER A FOUR-MONTH INVESTIGATION THEY SAID KELLY DIDN’T BREAK THE LAW AND WOULD NOT FACE CRIMINAL CHARGES. THEY WILL CONDUCTED AN INTERNAL INVESTIGATION AND FOUND THAT KEL YOU VIOLATED POLICY. WE SIGNED IN THE PATIENT BLOCK. THAT’S NOT SOMETHING EVER THAT HAPPENED. THERE WERE ALSO THINGS THAT WAS MISSING THE BODY CAMERA FOOTAGE. SOME OF THE FOOTAGE DID NOT EXIST. IT WAS DELETED. KELLY HAS BEEN DEMOTED AND REASSIGNED TO A NONSWORN POSITION INSIDE THE DEPARTMENT. IT DOESN’T MATTER WHAT’S GOING ON. POLICY CHANGES ARE NOW IN PLACE. OFFICERS CAN NO LONGER SIGN REFUSAL OF TREATMENT FORMS AND BODY CAM FOOTAGE COULD NOT BE DLOTED FOR 180 DAYS. REYNOLDS SAID THE DEPARTMENT HAS LEARNED FROM THIS CASE. THE FAMILY SENT US A STATEMENT SAYING IN PART NOTHING COVER REPLACE THIS FAMILY’S LOSS. IT IS HEARTENING TO KNOW THIS OFFICER WILL BE REMANDED TO A DESK JOB WHICH WILL TO TEN SAVE OTHER LIVES. CIVIL CHARGES ARE STILL PENDING
