Rain, surf picks up on Marco Island

BEING FELT ACROSS THE STATE. ESPECIALLY ON THE WEST COAST. REPORTER: LADIES, GOOD EVENING. AS WE COME ON THE AIR, THE RAIN HAS PICKED UP YET AGAIN. IT’S BEEN IN BITS ALL DAY LONG. TAKE A LOOK AT HOW ANGRY THE SKY LOOKS. GRAY SKIES, EXCESSIVE LIGHTNING AND TOR RENL DOWNPOURS. THE REMANENCE IS LIFTING UP OVER THE NORTH AND PROVIDING TROPICAL STORMS. THEY MOVE FROM ONE SIDE OF THE ISLAND TO THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ISLAND IN A MATTER OF 20 MINUTES. TONS OF LIGHTNING AND YOU CAN SEE A COUPLE OF SWIMMERS IN THERE. WHEN THEY SAW THE LIGHTNING STRIKES COME DOWN, THEY GOT OUT OF THE WATER QUICK. IT’S A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. ALSO WHAT WE’RE SEEING TODAY THAT WE DIDN’T SEE YESTERDAY, IS THE — TURNING UP A LITTLE MORE. YESTERDAY WE WERE TALKING ABOUT GLASS LIKE SEA CONDITIONS, YOU CAN SEE THEY STARTED PICKING UP ANY WHERE BETWEEN 3-4 FEET OFFSHORE. EVEN THOUGH ERICA IS NOT CLASSIFIED AS A TROPICAL STORM, WE’RE STILL SEEING THE EFFECTS. WE’RE CONTINUING TO TRACK THE BANDS OF SHOWERS AND STORMS AS WE HEAD INTO THE NEXT COUPLE OF HOURS.
