Hello and welcome to this episode of The Trick here on Network A. Joining me is Chris Brewster from Alaska. What trick are you teaching us? Today I am going to teach you how to nosepress. There are three steps to a nosepress approach, balance, and landing. So let’s get into the explanation. The approach, what are you thinking about? So here we are on the in run. We are going to teach you how to do a nosepress on a box today because it is the easiest thing to learn on. So for the approach I like to roll in with just the right amount of speed to get up onto the feature, so you are barely landing on there. So here we are at step two. This is the most important part of the trick. What I like to do is come in and land on your nose. I like to land with my back leg stiffened. You will feel the balance point under your front foot. It will probably take some time for you to find that balance point, but over time it will come. So your main goal is to keep your press straight and your shoulders square. Keep your press all the way as high as you can until the end of the feature. Here we are at the last step of the trick. You made it to the end of the feature with your press in the air. What I like to do for a little extra flavor is ollie out at the end and then ride away. Now you are ready to take this trick to a down bar. Chris, all steps aside what is the real trick to the trick? What is the hidden thing that makes the trick easy? I would say the trick to the trick is lifting the back leg and balance. I’ll go try. Do not lean too far forward. One thing you want to look out for is a lot of boxes are pretty sticky. Since you are doing a nose press you want to make sure you are not going over the handle bars. Sometimes, it will stick up and it will toss you over. Make sure your balance is over your front foot but relatively level. Thanks for watching this episode of The Trick here on Network A. We just kind of learned nosepresses with Chris Brewster.
