Now that you’ve mastered standing up and you’ve
found a balance and are confident, feel comfortable. You want to do something called a falling
leaf. That’s as simple as looking down the mountain. A lot of times when you?re trying
to control your snowboard all it takes is a little bit of weight and a little bit of
direction. So what you want to do for falling leaf is go ahead and look down the mountain
to the side and go ahead and move your hips a little that way to align with your eyes.
You’ll feel it start to move. Once you start moving, you’ve gone a little ways, go ahead
and look back center. As you see just by moving my eyes and a little bit of weight in my shoulders
I can completely control my board. Don’t be freaked out when you start to slide. It will
feel pretty weird at first. You’ll soon learn to love it. Once you’ve learned how to falling
leaf to your left, the next natural step is to go to your right. The same exact concept.
Sort of go ahead and take your eyes and look down the mountain. Shift your hips that way.
You’ll start to slide and just bring it around. That’s how you falling leaf, basically. It’s
a little bit weird at first, but with practice you’ll feel more comfortable. It’s all about
your eyes and your weight.

idk people that try to teach it make it sound ridiculous, all it is is adjusting your edge so the it catches the snow and turns you, none of this "point your shoulder that way" crap

You guys, this video is supposed to show beginners techiques to help them feel comfortable on the mountain. I think she accomplished this task pretty well. If you're intermediate or an expert, you don't need to watch it and criticize.
