Day 3 highlights from Chelyabinsk.
In Dance, even though the results of the free dance were mixed, the podium positions stayed the same. The only non Russian medalists in week
4 here in Chelyabinsk, Nadiia BASHYNSKA and Peter BEAUMONT of Canada came 5th in
the free, but earned a total 149.05 to maintain 3rd to take home
the bronze. For making a mistake on the spin and placing third in the free Diana DAVIS and Gleb SMOLKIN of Russia earned 158.24 to hold on second and they take silver. Skating inspired and error-free program Elizaveta SHANAEVA and Devid NARYZHNYY of Russia widened the lead earning a 171.01 to take home the gold and a trip to the final in Torino. In Ladies 3 Russians battled for podium position Viktoria VASILIEVA skated a clean technical program earning second in the free but
her overall total of 198.79 was just enough for her to take
home the bronze. Kseniia SINITSYNA second after the short fell on a difficult combination to place third in the free but earned an overall total of 204.25 to win the silver. And skating last with a difficult program plan Kamila VALIEVA landed one quad combination
and skated beautifully throughout to earn 221.95 to take home the second gold medal on her trip to the Junior Grand Prix Final.
