Day 2 Highlights from Riga. In the
Rhythm Dance the podium so far is in control of three different countries.
Skating the clean and inspired performance Natalie D’ALESSANDRO and Bruce WADDELL of Canada earned 61.68 to move into the third podium
position. Last year’s Junior Grand Prix finalist Maria KAZAKOVA and Georgy REVIYA of Georgia were solid in earning 63.25 and the silver medal position. Elizaveta KHUDAIBERDIEVA and Andrey FILATOV of Russia took top spot with a strong performance earning 65.13 and have the lead going into the free. In the Ladies final, the competition was tight and the tension immense as the skaters took to the ice. 4th after the short
program Rino MATSUIKE of Japan came out and delivered a beautiful and difficult
performance earning 193.03 to take home the bronze. Taking silver and first after the short and such a wonderful skater Daria USACHEVA of Russia unfortunately made a few mistakes but earning overall a good
score of 194.40. But on this night it would not be enough
skating and inspired an emotional and clean performance earning 197.63 point Haein LEE of Korea owned the night and takes home the gold.
