Day two highlights from Chelyabinsk. In
the ladies short program once again this week the podium was controlled by
Russian athletes skating the strong short program Viktoria VASILIEVA earned
67.04 to take 3rd. In 2nd, and just 5/10 out of
first Kseniia SINITSYNA skated brilliantly earning 73.04 to hold the silver medal position going into the free. And Junior
Grand Prix week one winner Kamila VALIEVA earned 73.56 to hold on to the top position after the short. In Pairs, the podium stayed the
same. Skating to the musical Chess Diana MUKHAMETZIANOVA and Ilya MIRONOV of Russia skated a dynamic program earning 171.88 win the bronze. And skating to Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen, Iuliia ARTEMEVA and Mikhail NAZARYCHEV of Russia were inspired in earning 178.31 to capture silver. And skating to Pink Floyd, Kseniia AKHANTEVA and Valerii KOLESOV of Russia were top of the game in earning a 185.05 as they take home the gold. In the Men’s free program,
just as in the Pair’s, the podium is controlled by Russia. In his Junior Grand
Prix debut Ilya YABLOKOV fought his way through his program earning 207.68 take the bronze. In first after the short with a 9 point lead and skating well but
with a few challenges Artur DANIELIAN earned 221.93 to win the silver And making up 9 points and
skating a passionate and powerful free program Petr GUMENNIK earned 222.14 to capture the gold.
